Could I Still Be Pregnant Despite Having Brownish Discharge Along With Negative UPT?

I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I took the early detection tests. My period is a week old. I have brown spotting on my tampon but usually I have very heavy periods. I do have cramps and feel like I m going to get my period. What s going on?

Hi.

Pregnancy is one of the most common causes for a delayed period but not the only one. Based on your brown discharge a hormonal imbalance can be suspected which in turn can be caused by numerous conditions like polycystic ovaries, medications, stress, infections, weight fluctuations, etc. Please consult a doctor for further evaluation and to find the cause for your presentation.

Best wishes.
